Adventure Fiction

5 Contributors

Adventure fiction is the term used to describe fast-moving fiction that takes place outside of the situation of a main character's day to day life. Some of the greatest examples of writers in the adventure genre are Emilio Salgari, Mark Twain, H. Rider Haggard, and Jules Verne.

Adventure fiction often overlaps with other genres, many examples of adventure fiction may also be thrillers, science fiction, or fantasy, to name just a few. Overall though, adventure fiction is characterised by its pace and emphasis on a sense of danger and excitement.
