Shilpa Aggarwal of Aastha Group emphasizes that recent surveys show that around 2.7 billion adults are likely to suffer from obesity by 2025. The problem of obesity is on the rise, and devouring the world like an epidemic.

There are various perilous and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) including heart disease, diabetes, liver disease and various cancers, which are caused due to obesity. Listed below are some of the most effective ways you can stay fit and reduce those extra kilos.

1. Eat more fibre

Various studies have highlighted that eating fibre has an inverse relationship with gaining weight. A diet high on fibre helps in keeping your digestive system healthy. It is also believed to reduce the total calorie intake significantly. Shilpa Aggarwal of Aastha Group states that food items like Lima beans, Black beans, Lentils, Blueberries, Oats and Popcorn are rich in fibre. Fresh fruits like apples, prunes, pears and oranges, Whole grain crackers, ragi biscuits and apricots are the best options when it comes to fibre-rich food.

2. Incorporate a proper workout regime in your daily routine

We have been hearing a lot about the wide-ranging benefits offered by exercise, one of the major being prevention of excess weight gain. Shilpa Aggarwal of Aastha Group states that being physically active throughout the day helps you in reducing weight. Thus, following a proper workout schedule is the key, when it comes to maintaining a healthy body. It is also effective in maintaining complete mental calm and boost the body’s energy levels.

3. Follow a proper diet plan

The food we eat plays a major role in determining our overall health. Thus, it is important to follow a balanced diet to maintain healthy weight. It is recommended to include 50 grams of Protein, 70 grams of Fat, 24 grams Saturated Fatty Acids, 310 grams Carbohydrates, 90 grams Sugars, 2.3 grams Sodium (salt) and 30 grams of Dietary Fibre. It is equally important to include fruits, which supplement various essential nutrients, such as potassium, dietary fibre, Vitamin C and folate (folic acid) to your body. Apart from this, you should avoid consuming processed and unhealthy food as it contains added sugar, salt, and fat.

4. Follow the correct mealtime

Following the correct meal time can bring a huge difference in your overall health. Eating food at the right time is important for ensuring better digestion as well. Shilpa Aggarwal recommends following a diet chart, which comprises of five small meals in a day with a gap of 3 hours between every meal.
