Hotmail has been in use since the time I was founded. With 400 million active users across the globe, Hotmail is able to make its own place alongside its stiff competitors. Upgrading its webmail services and features all the time, it surely had come a long way from basic to advanced one. With best features to count upon, it helps the user in numerous ways.
One such feature it holds is sending SMS messages through email account. Though the main purpose of email account is to forward emails, user can also use the same for sending text messages as well. Although, it takes time to forward an SMS from the Hotmail but is useful if you want to forward a text message to somebody if text messaging is disabled on your cell phone.
The only requirement for this is the recipient’s number plus cell phone carrier domain for sending a text message from email account.
Follow the below steps for sending a text message from your email account:
a. With your user name and password login to your Hotmail account.
b. For composing a new email click on New.
c. You will be asked to enter a 10 digit cell phone number on which you want to receive message followed by ‘@’ along with cell phone carrier domain. Like for say if you to send a message to AT&T customer from your Hotmail, you will add ‘@tfg.att.net’ to the mobile number.
d. Compose the message and do type a subject for the text. Try to type your message within 160 characters. If you are trying to send a long message, so either cut off the information or the receiver might get multiple text messages.
