Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Dublin Book Festival continues to be one of the most vibrant and exciting literary events in the Irish calendar. The festival is centered on showcasing Irish publishing, and Irish published authors.

It celebrates the creativity and unique personality of the publishing sector in Ireland with an weekend of entertainment for the whole family. There is no limit to the genre of books to explore here, everything from cookery to poetry, and from literary fiction to children’s fiction. The festival hosts a range of events including book readings, debates, public interviews, book launches and workshops, including some Irish language events.

This year’s line-up includes interviews with the winner of the 2016 Bailey’s Prize for Fiction, Lisa McInerney, and Oscar nominated filmmaker John Boorman. The festival is largely free and gives people an opportunity to mingle with the authors, publishers, and fellow book-lovers, all of which makes for a fun and affordable weekend. The Dublin Book Festival 2016 will take place from 10 – 13 November, and will be based in the Smock Alley Theatre.
