Casablanca International Book Fair 2017
2 - 19 February, 2017
The fair features more than 700 publishers from 24 countries, which publish in a variety of languages. Moroccan publishers print in three: Arabic, French and Amazigh.
Morocco, which positions itself as a gateway to Africa, welcomed the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) this year as guest of honor. Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, DR Congo, Sao Tome and Principe, Chad and Rwanda are all participating in the fair which will serve to strengthen economic, social and cultural ties, eventually leading to the establishment of a common market among these countries and Morocco. Thematic conferences, poetry readings and meetings with authors, intellectuals and artists from the region will take place, introducing the public to the multidimensional cultural realities of Africa today.
