Zaha Hassan is a human rights attorney, writer and Middle East Fellow at the DC-based think tank, New America. Formerly, Zaha was the coordinator and senior legal advisor to the Palestinian negotiating team during Palestine’s bid for UN membership. Her political essays and op-eds have appeared in the New York Times, The Hill, Salon, The Oregonian and The Detroit News. She has also commentated for MSNBC and Arab satellite news. She is currently writing her first novel, ‘Die Standing Like Trees’.
