Youssef Fadel is a Moroccan novelist and playwright.
Born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1949, he has written several plays and novels and is also a screenwriter.
He was imprisoned by the government in the infamous Moulay al-Sheriff prison during the 1970s for his play "The War".
He is one of the founders of Shem’s Theater and managed the literary magazine Najma.
