Özge Samanci is a media and comic artist, she is a professor of Communications at Northwestern University. Her areas of interest include interactive art, interactive narrative, interaction design, full-body interaction, comics and graphic novels, digital-interactive media theory, and location-based art.
Her interactive installations have been exhibited in numerous international venues and art galleries.
Her autobiographical graphic novel Dare to Disappoint (Farrar Straus Giroux, 2015) received international press attention and was reviewed in The New York Times, The Guardian, Slate, New Republic, Paste Magazine, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, PBS-Chicago Tonight, the Daily Beast, Smithsonian APA along with many other media outlets. Dare to Disappoint has been translated into Korean, Dutch, and Turkish. Her drawings appeared in Slate magazine, The Huffington Post, Guernica magazine and The Rumpus.
