Malachy Tallack (born 20 November 1980) is a Scottish singer-songwriter and journalist who was born in England and brought to Shetland when he was ten years old by his mother.

He edited the magazine Shetland Life, and wrote a weekly column for the New Statesman about his experiences of rural life, and living on a remote Scottish island. He described on BBC Radio in July 2015 travel through all the countries of the world at 60 degrees north latitude. He has released one book with a second due out in Autumn 2016. The inside sleeve of his first novel claims that he is a writer for the Guardian and the New Statesman. He had a regular column in the New Statesman but has only written one Guardian article to date.

As a musician, Tallack has released three albums of folk-rock music, and supported Runrig on their 2007 UK tour.
