The author and filmmaker Karim Miské was born in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) in 1964, of a Mauritanian father and a French mother. He grew up in Paris and studied journalism in Dakar (Senegal). For the past twenty years he has made documentary films and has written for a variety of newspapers. He has written a number of books, fiction and non-fiction.
