One of the Turkey’s best known novelists and political commentators  who  also  have  been  published  in  The  Guardian,  New  York  Times,  Newstatesman,  New  Left  Review,  Le  Monde  Diplomatique,  Frankfurter  Rundschau,  Der  Spiegel  and  Berliner  Zeitung.  She  lived  in  several  countries  such  as  Lebanon,  Tunisia,  Paris  and  Oxford  to  write  her  novels.  Her  investigative  journalism  books  broach  subjects  that  are  highly  controversial  in  Turkey, such as Kurdish and Armenian issue and freedom of expression and women’s right. She was a visiting fellow at Saint Anthony’s College, Oxford. Her novels are published in  several  languages  and  turned  to  theatre  plays,  script  plays.  During  her  years  of  journalism  she  has  been  “the  most read writer” for several times. She has been rated as “the one of the 10 most influential people in social media” for two times. She gave the “Freedom Lecture” as a guest of  Amnesty  International  and  Prince  Claus  Foundation.    She   divides   her   time   between   Istanbul   and Zagreb.
